The series of overvoltage suppressors is created on the basis of the oxide-zinc nonlinear resistors (varistors). They ensure an essential augmentation of work reliability of an electrical equipment in extreme requirements. The modern polymeric materials such as polyurethane compounds and silicone gum have been widely utillized in constructions of overvoltage suppressors. The specifications of overvoltage suppressors and the oscillograms illustrating their work are given in this paper.
